The spring system comprises a single row of hand-nested calico pocket springs, each crafted from Vanadium steel. In a King size, 2,058 independent springs respond to weight and movement, absorbing pressure without transferring it across the bed. The border is upholstered with protective wool and reinforced with two rows of hand side-stitching to secure the perimeter springs and maintain a consistent sleep surface to the very edge. Hand-tufting with felt washers holds the fillings in alignment through the mattress depth, preventing migration that could otherwise create uneven support over time.
